Do I Apply in Australia or Overseas?
When you apply for a Subclass 190 Visa, you may be in Australia or abroad. You would require a substantive visa or a bridging A, B, or C visa to lodge from within Australia. Once you submit your application from within Australia, you will be issued a bridging visa that will allow you to stay in the country while your visa is being processed.
You can include the following types of family members in your application:
- Spouse or de facto partner (including a spouse or partner of the same sex).
- Dependent children.
After the application has been submitted, partners and dependent children may be added.
Duration and Conditions
With this permanent visa, visitors have the freedom to live and work in Australia for as long as they like. The State or Territory that nominated you for the visa would typically expect you to live there for two years.
If you are outside of Australia when the visa is issued, you and your family members must arrive in Australia for the first time before your police and health clearances expire.
